Seeing beneath the surface: an example
To illustrate the difference between this kind of assessment and personality assessment, consider the case of Deborah W:
Deborah was known to be something of a ‘dark horse’. Her personality profile indicated that she was mild mannered and conventional with mainly average scores. However, those who knew her work style well were not at all surprised to see that her elemental profile presented a far more extreme picture. It demonstrated that she had a high need for personal achievement and a low need for structure, and that she was action orientated and driven by opportunities to implement new initiatives and attain high standards.
It therefore highlighted her ‘hidden potential’ for bringing her expertise to bear on the business in a rapidly changing environment.
